Where Hatred Leads Song

I decided to try something different. Rather than writing a traditional blog article, I decided to turn it into a song. After all, who doesn’t like to listen to Music?

I have noticed over the years, that more and more people really don’t read like they used to. Social media has changed the way in which people communicate, share stories, read and get the news. So, for 2026, I will try and write my thoughts through song, rather than traditional blog articles. This could be a big flop… or maybe a new chapter. Time will tell. I am publishing the songs under the name “Granite Fortress”

Where Hatred Leads

“Where Hatred Leads” was inspired by my observations of the world around me. I have watched innocent words, typed into various social media platforms, turn into fiery debates, name calling and, in some cases, a call for that person’s death. Simple words… turn into fire. What is happening to us?

Civility has been lost between fellow human beings. And this rage leads to Hatred. And Hatred leads to Wars.

The song has a simple goal, it’s a reminder we all need: slow down, take a breath, and choose love before anger takes control.

🎵 LYRICS:
It starts with a word
A whisper turned to fire
A line typed in anger
Escalating words
Stakes getting higher

Then suddenly the ground shakes
Neighbors become enemies
And war rises up to show us
Where hatred always leads
Where hatred leads

To mothers crying in empty bedrooms
Where hatred leads
To children’s lives lost too young
Every bomb, every bullet
Says the same old thing
War exists to remind us
Where hatred leads

Faces on a screen
Names nobody reads
A hometown torn open
Bright futures buried deep

We send our sons and daughters
To pay for others’ dreams
And only when the cost comes due
Do we finally see

Where hatred leads
To empty beds and folded flags.
Where hatred leads
To memories that don’t come back.
Always thinking we were right
til History proves us wrong.
Stubbornness and pride
cost us everything we own

We crown ourselves as righteous,
walking over those fallen down.
We wander into lives… uninvited,
and then envy what they have found.
But every time we choose that road…
the demons claim their throne.
Rising storms remind us
that our hatred has come back home.

And innocents weep in the shadows
tears born of pain and grief
If hatred is your merchant
Then war is your receipt

Where hatred leads… we’ve all seen it.
Where hatred leads… people always regret it.
Think twice before the anger grows,
Before the fire feeds.
Cause War… Will rise… to remind us…
Where Hatred Leads!
